Well-Designed Text Programs
I do not have a personal evaluation concerning
which math texts are best at this time, because
I have not been teaching math recently.
However, the following link reminds us all
that caution and diligence in selecting
appropriate and quality texts is in order.
Marianne Moody Jennings is a professor of
legal and ethical studies
at Arizona State University.

The University of Chicago
School Mathematics Project page
links to Prentice Hall for 6-12 Materials,
and to SRA McGraw Hill for K-6 Materials.
Professor Jennings refers to an Addison-Wesley text.
I am not familiar with the Chicago Math Project
and consequently have not formed an opinion
regarding it. Clearly, according to
professor Jennings, its implementation
can be problematic. The problem
may be the implementation.
Professor Jennings and the
organization, Mathematically Correct,
are referenced respectfully
by Diane Ravitch in "Left Back
A Century of Battles Over School Reform".
On pages 440 - 441 of that text,
Professor Ravitch writes this.
